Upstream supply chain confirms that Qualcomm has been approved to sell 4G chips to Huawei

Earlier news said that Qualcomm has been approved to sell chips to Huawei. Today, domestic media confirmed from the upstream supply chain that Qualcomm has obtained a license to sell 4G chips to Huawei. "(4G chip license) I got it two days ago, and the 5G chip hasn't got the license yet." said a senior executive of a listed company in the supply chain of Huawei.   One of the company's main businesses is the mobile phone ODM business, and it works closely with Qualcomm and Huawei. Huawei and Qualcomm officials both stated that they would not respond to the above news.
It is worth mentioning that the Financial Association also reported today that according to KeyBanc, a well-known Wall Street investment bank, Qualcomm has obtained an export license to supply 4G chips to Huawei.   Unfortunately, 4G chips are not very helpful for Huawei to resume business. At present, the national smartphone market has fully entered the 5G track. According to the latest data released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, in October 2020, the domestic market of 5G mobile phones shipped 16.760 million units, accounting for 64.1% of the mobile phone shipments during the same period.   However, Qualcomm's Snapdragon non-5G chips can still greatly ease Huawei's tablet, headset and other businesses.
