The iPhone 13 series dominates the Chinese smartphone market, but even in this market, the iPhone 13 Mini model does not attract too many users.

The latest data from Counterpoint shows that the iPhone 13 is the best-selling model in China in 2021, above the iPhone 13 Pro Max. All in all, proportionally from these figures, more than 1 in 2 iPhones sold in China last year was the iPhone 13.

iPhone 13 Pro ranks 3rd in the ranking with 21%, while iPhone 13 mini is the least attractive, accounting for only 5% of total iPhone sales.

Counterpoint explained: “ Initial sales of the iPhone 13 series in China far exceeded sales of its predecessors. With the release of the iPhone 13, Apple took the top spot in terms of sales in China and maintained the number one spot, not counting the brief period during Singles' Day. This success was also followed by positive sales of the iPhone 12 series, which contributed to an increase in Apple's overall sales .”

In addition to confirming the iPhone 13 is a very successful product, these numbers also show that Apple is on the right track when it comes to killing the iPhone mini, if the rumors are true.

The upcoming generation of iPhone 14 is said to no longer have a 5.4-inch version. In return, Apple will introduce a larger iPhone 14 with a 6.7-inch screen. The lineup will still include four different models, like the current generation, but will only include 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch devices.

The iPhone mini will almost certainly be "retired," and the smallest iPhone Apple will sell will be the iPhone SE, which is expected to be refreshed at some point this spring. Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 launch event, if nothing changes, will take place in September.

A new law was enacted by the National Assembly of Korea in September 2021, obliging app developers to use specific payment systems, in order to prevent monopolies from market operators. apps - like Apple and Google. On January 11, 2022, Apple gave regulatory consent and will allow payment systems other than those in the App Store.

Apple hasn't said the exact fee it will charge app developers for using an external payment system, but does say it will be 30% less than Apple's current regulatory fee. Exact commission rates for external payments, and execution date, will be determined after concluding discussions with South Korea's Technology regulator, the giant said.

Google also agreed to the new rule a little earlier than Apple, charging 26% for external payments. At first glance this sounds like a win for app developers on Apple and Google platforms, but there are also concerns about whether it will have any significant impact. For example, it is much easier and more convenient for a developer to use the payment systems provided by Apple or Google, than using an external payment system.

Another good example is the payment system of the market operator One Store in Korea. A fee of 5% when using external payment methods, 20% for internal payment methods of the market. However, for the sake of convenience, developers still accept the option of higher fees.

However, no matter how effective it is, successfully implementing the regulation and forcing Apple and Google to make concessions is a big step forward in the fight for developers. It is also considered that the first domino to be pushed will create a chain reaction in other countries to achieve the same goal as in Korea.

The Chinese government's digital yuan wallet promises to accelerate the trend of cashless spending in the country of billions of people in the future.

China's official digital yuan wallet app is now available on Android and iOS mobile app stores. This is seen as a step forward in the development of China's sovereign digital currency as the Beijing Winter Olympics nears.

Developed by the Digital Currency Research Institute of the People's Bank of China (PBOC), test versions of the digital yuan app have been opened to users on iOS app stores. and Android. In the test areas, users were able to use the digital currency through supported organizations that provide the service.

The PBOC has been testing the currency in 10 Chinese cities since the end of 2019 and the venues for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

As of October 22, 2021, more than 140 million individual digital yuan wallets have been opened with a total transaction volume of nearly 62 billion yuan (about $9.72 billion).

China has been moving towards a cashless society for years, and already millions of mobile payment users pay with Tencent's WeChat Pay or Alibaba's Alipay every day.

Compared to those applications, digital yuan payments do not require an intermediary step to link a bank account with an online payment system and allow the government to have greater control over the payments. transactions in real time.

A regular purchase and sale with digital currency will be quite similar to an online payment transaction via Alipay or WeChat Pay. When using those electronic payment tools, users must have a bank account with a certain amount of money inside, the money will be deducted when they pay through the application. Users are not outside the traditional banking system. However, with digital currency, users do not need to have paper money in a bank account. The digital currency is deposited directly into the user's e-banking wallet.

Digital currency is created digitally. It's still cash, but a different kind of cash. Imagine you are living in a virtual world or a video game, digital currency is like the money you earn and spend in the game. It has actual monetary value, only you can't touch it like with regular banknotes.

A Chinese digital currency issued by a central bank. This makes it completely different from cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. Since all currencies are issued by the central bank, countries use their power to ensure the credibility of that currency.

Amazon once reinvented the supermarket shopping model with its go-to counter chain Go, and now the e-commerce giant is about to apply the power of technology to the hairdressing industry. They chose the east London area to open their first Amazon-branded hair salon - a center of nearly 140 square meters where customers can try out virtual hair colors with an augmented reality bar and shop. Beauty products have been selected using electronic screens as well as QR codes. The AR technology Amazon uses will be processed on a tablet embedded in a mirror, allowing customers to see what they look like in a variety of hair colors through the tablet's front camera. Overall, things look quite similar to the Live Mode makeup feature that Amazon introduced on its mobile app in 2019, allowing users to experiment with a variety of lip colors. Meanwhile, the shopping experience uses Amazon's new "point-and-learn" technology, which allows customers to point a camera at a product on a shelf to view relevant information - including videos promoting brands - on an included screen. You will then be able to purchase the items by scanning a QR code to go to the product page on the Amazon UK website.
In addition to technology, Amazon's hair salon also offers traditional hairdressing services with experts from Neville Hair and Beauty, a London barbershop with adult haircut prices around $ 70 to ... 350 USD. Reportedly, Amazon is currently testing the AR concept with employees and plans to expand the store widely in the next few weeks. Amazon's hair salon comes right after the first UK convenience store chain to use the same technology without a cash register as its Go stores, with three Amazon Fresh stores currently operating across London. So far, the company said there are no plans to open more hair salons. Instead, they see the concept as a place to test new technology and showcase other beauty products.

More specifically, Musk estimated how many people are needed to rebuild the entire industrial base of the earth so that they can build, manufacture and process anything without relying on the earth's resources. At the same time, in the live broadcast on Thursday, Musk talked about space travel to Mars, and Musk did not ignore the risks of Mars exploration.
SpaceX founder Elon Musk believes that humans need to leave the earth to ensure that humans can survive when disasters arrive. Mars is also most likely to become the second home for humans. According to Space X's plan, in the process of emigrating to Mars in the future, SpaceX's ultimate goal is to launch an average of 3 starship rockets per day, each with a capacity of 100 tons. Each time the Mars-Geosynchronous orbit is about once every 26 months, 1,000 interstellar spacecraft will be launched in this time window in the future, which can carry 100,000 people to Mars. The above data add up to the "golden number" that Musk often refers to-1 million people. He believes that in order for the human population on the surface of Mars to sustainably develop and be completely different from the development of the earth, at least 1 million people are needed. People live on Mars.

Earlier news said that Qualcomm has been approved to sell chips to Huawei. Today, domestic media confirmed from the upstream supply chain that Qualcomm has obtained a license to sell 4G chips to Huawei. "(4G chip license) I got it two days ago, and the 5G chip hasn't got the license yet." said a senior executive of a listed company in the supply chain of Huawei.   One of the company's main businesses is the mobile phone ODM business, and it works closely with Qualcomm and Huawei. Huawei and Qualcomm officials both stated that they would not respond to the above news.
It is worth mentioning that the Financial Association also reported today that according to KeyBanc, a well-known Wall Street investment bank, Qualcomm has obtained an export license to supply 4G chips to Huawei.   Unfortunately, 4G chips are not very helpful for Huawei to resume business. At present, the national smartphone market has fully entered the 5G track. According to the latest data released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, in October 2020, the domestic market of 5G mobile phones shipped 16.760 million units, accounting for 64.1% of the mobile phone shipments during the same period.   However, Qualcomm's Snapdragon non-5G chips can still greatly ease Huawei's tablet, headset and other businesses.

2020 is a magical year. No one would have thought that Apple would hold three press conferences in three months, and one of them is worth seeing. Of course, this has a lot to do with the form of online broadcasting, especially It is designed to match the cool scenes in the film, making people feel like watching a movie. As the finale in this series of movies, today’s protagonist is the Apple M1 chip that debuted. The products equipped with this chip include MacBook Air 13, MacBook Pro 13 and Mac mini. They are likely to be Apple’s ecosystem. A starting point for a new era.

[Mobile Channel] With the release of Apple’s iPhone 12 series, not only Qualcomm will benefit from it, but the October revenue of Apple’s chip foundry TSMC is also expected to break new highs.   According to past practice, TSMC will announce last month's results in October, so November 10 is tomorrow, TSMC is likely to announce its October revenue report
As TSMC’s largest customer, Apple, began mass shipments of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro last month, TSMC’s performance is expected to reach new highs.   The A14 bionic chip used in the iPhone 12 series this year is the TSMC 5nm process. Not only that, this year Apple also has at least two 5nm self-developed chips
With the help of Apple A14, it is no surprise that TSMC's October revenue will exceed September. In September, TSMC’s revenue reached a record of NT$127.585 billion, equivalent to US$4.473 billion, a year-on-year increase of 24.9%, which was also higher than the NT$122.878 billion in August

Apple Watch Series 6 was introduced by Apple this morning with many color options, new oxygen measuring sensor and faster processor. However, Apple briefly mentioned that the Series 6 models all come with the U1 chip, which first appeared in the iPhone 11 launched last year.

This U1 chip uses a positioning technology called Ultra Wideband radio, providing accurate spatial awareness as well as location. So, a device equipped with the U1 chip can detect the location much more accurately than other devices.

The iPhone 11 is currently using this system to improve AirDrop, which can detect the nearest device to show up right in the sharing options. However, it seems that Apple's ambitions are even broader when bringing this U1 chip to the Apple Watch for the first time.

Besides AirDrop, the new Car Key feature will also take advantage of the new U1 chip inside the iPhone 11 and now add the Apple Watch Series 6. With Car Key, the driver can replace the keys. physical lock by iPhone or Apple Watch via NFC. However, thanks to the U1 chip, you don't even need to take your iPhone out of your pocket or raise your wrist to unlock the door or start the car.

With the rumors about the upcoming AirTags, Apple is expected to also integrate the U1 chip inside this product to provide the exact location of the devices, even when offline. AirTags are small wearables that you can attach to anything like a backpack or even a car to track them using Apple's Find My network.

Apple has also developed a new NearbyInteraction framework that developers can use to collect the location of nearby iPhones and deliver interactive user experiences. Although Apple hasn't mentioned anything about it yet, the framework may be added to watchOS in a future update.

These features haven't been announced yet, but sure enough, Apple has added the U1 chip to the Apple Watch Series 6 for a bigger purpose. However, it is worth noting that, even though the Apple Watch Series 6 is equipped with a U1 chip, the Apple Watch SE version does not have this feature.
