Until 2022, gamers will still find it difficult to buy a PS5

Sony has sold 7.8 million PlayStation 5 units and aims to sell an additional 14.8 million over the next 12 months. However, Bloomberg reports that Sony has warned analysts that the console will remain in short supply until 2022.

The demand for PS5 is huge, but the global shortage of semiconductors has made it difficult to increase output, so PS5 will be difficult to find in stores for now. Previously, Sony had predicted that the supply would increase in the second half of this year, but the genuine also no longer believes in that. Sony is not currently setting a new estimate of when supply will improve.

"I don't think demand will drop this year and even if we secure more devices and produce more PlayStation 5 next year, our supply won't be able to keep up with demand," said the Director. Chief Financial Officer Hiroki Totoki said in a secret meeting.

Rivals Nintendo and Microsoft are also having supply problems with their consoles (Microsoft estimates these problems will subside in July).
